Guidelines for Harley Brown Amphitheater

For inclement weather cancellations, customers must contact the Margaret W Carpenter Recreation Center staff by the end of the day on Tuesday following their pavilion rental to inform them that they would like to reschedule their rental. This can be done by calling 303-255-7830. They may choose an available alternate date during the same calendar year.

  • No inclement weather cancellation refunds will be given..
  • Refunds and date changes (based on availability) are available with advance 30-day cancellation notice. Reserving party must vacate amphitheater by the end of the rental period.
  • Amplified music is permitted at the amphitheater with a Sound Permit.
  • Barbecue grills, tables and chairs may be brought into the park.
  • Barbecue grills are permitted on the cement area only. No hot coal allowed; propane only.
  • Alcohol is not allowed
  • No glass containers will be allowed.
  • Use of barbecue grills is subject to current drought restrictions stipulated by State of Colorado.
  • VEHICLES MAY NOT BE DRIVEN ON WALKWAYS OR IN PARK. However, sound equipment vehicles may park behind the amphitheater’s stage.
  • Water will not be provided at any park or pavilion.
  • Prior to April 1 and after October 31, the amphitheater is on a first-come, first-serve basis. No rentals will be accepted. Certain blackout dates apply because of various festivals the city offers. During these times the amphitheater will be available on a first come, first serve basis. The other park amenities may not be available.
  • Any tent or canopy larger than 12x12 feet must have a tent/canopy permit issued by the City of Thornton Fire Marshall. Tent stakes of 8” or less may be used for securing tents or canopies. Tents/canopies must also be safely and securely weighed down by sandbags, weights, etc.
  • Amphitheater rentals do not guarantee use of any of the amenities within Carpenter Park.
  • Carpenter Park has a total capacity of 500. The amphitheater may not be available due to other rentals and events in the park area.
  • Any Carpenter Park inquiries can be made by calling 303-255-7830.
  • City of Thornton parks are open 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily.
  • For events, NO rental applications will be accepted after Wednesday at noon for the upcoming weekend.
  • All rental fees must be paid in full at the time of booking.
